Where to start. First off, my name is Taylor Louis Riché, and I usually just go by Taylor. I was born on January 4th, 1978 in Baton Rouge. I also spent (for the most part) the next 18 years of my life there. I attended Catholic High School and graduated from there in 1996.
After that I spent the next four years of my life in New Orleans attending Tulane University acquiring a degree in Computer Engineering.
Just a side note, if you have never been to New Orleans, plan a trip. I mean, yes, there are some sketchy places, but there is no other city like it in the entire United States.
After getting my coveted BSE degree in May of 2000 from Tulane, I went to work for IBM in Austin, Texas. This was a very fun job. I thought there was no reason that I would ever quit. Then I got into graduate school...
So here we are. I am now a seventh year PhD student in the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. I am currently doing research on designing a programming model for request processing systems on multi-* architectures with the Laboratory for Advanced Systems Research.
I'm married to the most wonderful and loving person I have ever known. I'm so lucky to have her! Carrie and I got married on March 13th, 2004.
