Alive
I am alive. Conference was a blast, even though I didn't necessarily do well. The rain during the crit really was horrifying; the infamous corner four became more infamous. But we brought the trophy back home with us to Austin. Two years in a row! Hook'em!
I'm working a lot, and will continue to do so until Thursday night. I'm hoping to squeeze in a some exercise here and there. I should probably swim once before the triathlon a week from tomorrow. Whoops.
I can still rock out to the latest Muse album.
I have been updating my Twitter feed decently frequently because it's fast and I don't feel the need to be as thorough in my commentary. Clicky.

Assorted-ness
I'm at Thunderbird trying to write. I figured the change of scenery may help with writing, which is usually a very slow process for me. I am enjoying their "Trubano," a double-shot cubano with some steamed milk. It is muy delicioso.
Tomorrow I'm heading to Wichita Falls with the cycling team. I did get a lot done this week, and I hope to get more done before we leave. I have yet to hear the plan for leaving, so I'm not sure on the time, or if I'm driving or whatever. So we'll see the deal is. But I'm looking forward to it. I might try to do another easy ride today just to keep the legs moving. I'm hoping my lingering fatigue from the MS150 will finally pass and my legs will feel good this weekend. Yesterday I felt really good on the bike, even though it was just a short ride with a few easy intervals thrown in.
Our race on Saturday is just 36 miles, so not too bad. The A's race is way long for a collegiate race, they really decided to step it up for conference I guess. We're doing four laps of a 9 mile course. There aren't too many hills out there, so I'm expecting the wind to be the real factor. The wind in WF is usually just silly. As David says, "If the wind is your friend you never ride alone."
The crit is a rectangle classic crit course on the MSU campus. Fast, flat, and one of the corners is bricked. Somebody always eats it in that corner. This was the crit where last year I t-boned the guy who decided he needed to turn around and look at the wreck we had just passed, and he went down because of it. Then I went down because of him. Hopefully I'll avoid such silliness this year.
I forgot my power cord I realized. However, I was planning on going home for lunch anyway since I have leftovers, so that should work out well.
Out of curiosity from a penny arcade post, I looked up twitter yesterday. This concept of "micro-blogging" is kind of bizarre. Basically, it's a service that consists purely of allowing you to post and follow which amount to just Facebook status messages. It's an aggregator for status updates. You can use your phone with SMS to update your twitter feed. They call the updates, "tweets." It's very odd. Anyway, here is my feed.
I'll try to post from WF. I'm obviously bringing my laptop to work, and hopefully I'll be able to grab a net connection. Later.
