Preparation

June is almost upon us. Last year I put myself through something I called “June in Black and White.” This was the promise to take and post at least one useful image every day. I would carry my camera with me, basically everywhere, and snap pictures. Really try to notice my surroundings, and not worry about pesky things like color in the process.

Well, I’m happy to announce JiBW2. Starting this coming Tuesday, June 1st, I will be looking to post pictures every day. I found the experience amazingly rewarding last year, and am hoping the feeling will repeat.

Same rules as last time. I will only be using my 35mm prime lens, and I will only shoot in B&W (obviously from the name). Sometimes the pictures will be cool, sometimes the pictures will be lame (such as the HEB sign from last year, sigh). But there will always be pictures.

Some of my favorite pictures from last year came from when I was doing things other than just going to and from work. Going out to eat, sitting by the water, going to the bike races, etc. So, people in Austin, let’s do fun and interesting things. We have an entire month. The trip home to Baton Rouge in the beginning of June will also provide some nice opportunities.

Anyway, my return to the Driveway tonight. Woot!
